The Palace at Somerset Park is one sought-after wedding venue, and it has won numerous awards, such as The Knot: Best of Weddings Hall of Fame, Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Award, and Wedding Wire 100 Review Club.
While it is well renowned, the venue may not suit everyone and fit all their needs. Keep reading to determine if the Palace is the place to host your wedding.
After a decade of planning, the Palace opened its doors in 2005. The Palace at Somerset Park is a 72,000 sq ft Palladian-style mansion surrounded by 30 acres of picture-perfect landscaped grounds. It could even feel like your wedding is out of a fairytale. Located in central New Jersey, the Palace is recognized as one of the best wedding venues in the Tri-state area.
Somerset, New Jersey is a county within the Franklin Township. The county is known as one of the oldest in the United States. Somerset has a very historic feeling in the air with many revolutionary war monuments and other landmarks.
The dramatic archways at the entrance and grandeur décor make the Palace the ideal romantic wedding venue. The luxurious space offers a variety of options, including the choice between an outdoor and indoor reception. Having been chosen by all kinds of couples, the Palace hosts weddings from a range of cultures.
While the mansion can host two events simultaneously, each side is distinct. One house may suit you better than the other.
The West and East houses both have a private foyer, ballroom, bridal suite, graceful staircase, balcony, and garden. 24-foot ceilings and charming chandeliers are on both sides as well. Guests from each side will have separate entrances, bathrooms, and parking areas. The houses can host parties of 125 to 600 people.
The differences start with the size, the West House has 2,016 square feet while the East has 5,650 square feet of space.
The West House may be much smaller, but that doesn’t lessen the level of elegance the room contains. The ballroom has a 12-foot-high antique mantel and mahogany-toned accents that give the space a touch of warmth.
On the other side, the East Ballroom welcomes you with a vintage Tuscan Fountain of tan marble. The East side has accent tones of blue and gold. There are options for couples to add personal touches.
We especially loved taking photos at the Palace at Somerset Park because of how versatile the area is. With the seemingly endless picturesque gardens, it would be hard not to get stunning portraits.
From a local New Jersey wedding photographer’s view, there is a wide variety of backdrops for portraits and other wedding party pictures. It almost seems like the building was built in the optimal location for catching the sun’s natural light.
If you want “naturesque” pictures full of vegetation, the luscious gardens surrounding the building have the perfect setting. The maintained lawn has diverse plants and walkways that allow for pictures full of greens.
Not into the nature vibe? The gracious architecture of the building creates a beautiful wedding background.
Of course, you can also opt to have the finely kept garden and opulent architecture both in your pictures. This combination provides a complementary setting of the gorgeous structure and greenery.
Raining on the big day? The lavish interior also provides an aesthetic space for romantic and elegant wedding portraits.
There is a reason the Palace is named the Palace at Somerset Park and that can be seen from when you pull into the driveway to when you walk through the Grand Foyer. The high ceilings allowed us to take photos of the entire ballroom.
Regardless of the weather, the venue provides an abundance of options to take stunning pictures.
If the Palace isn’t famous for its timeless elegance and grand design, then the Palace is well known for its full-scale professional fireworks display. Couples have the option to cut the cake on their fairytale night with a dramatic background full of light.
Naturally, the Palace has packages for all kinds of weddings from simple and small, to large and extravagant. You have the option of an all-inclusive package as well. The package includes, but is not limited to:
